Meadows Casino sets table for good month
Following a really bad month, The Meadows Casino turned the tables on table games.
The Meadows collected $3,599,474 in gross revenue in November, an 11.1 percent increase from $3,239,834 in November 2017. This followed three consecutive monthly declines in 2018, including an 18.67 percent drop in October.
Collectively, the state’s 12 casinos experienced a 1.31 percent dip last month, according to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Total November revenue was $71,286,756, compared with $72,230,798 a year earlier. That was the fourth month in a row that Pennsylvania gaming sites experienced a slight drop.
Only six casinos posted gains from November 2017. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, enjoyed a 15.4 percent revenue rise ($6,566,239 from $5,690,081). Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, struggled last month, though, pulling in $228,156 in revenue, a 46.5 percent plummet from $426,761 a year earlier.
The control board reported $11,452,168 in tax revenue was generated by table games play last month, with an average of 1,285 tables operating daily.
November figures for slots play were reported earlier. Statewide, total gaming revenue increased marginally – 0.31 percent, to $254,355,933 from $253,560,454. That was an increase of about $800,000.
The Meadows posted a 2.41 percent bump overall in November, to $19,783,114 from $19,316,816. Rivers’ total revenue rose 9.64 percent (to $29,216,663 from $26,648,074). Lady Luck’s figure dropped 9.88 percent (to $2,298,198 from $2,550,266).
