Range Resources – My Bike Program
Range Resources and Variety Pittsburgh presented adaptive bikes to eight children from Washington, Green and Fayette counties yesterday at Range Resources Southpointe office. The program allows kids with disabilities to customize their first bike. These specialized bicycles are expensive and often out of the price range for some families. The nonprofit organization presented 14 other children with either an adaptive stroller or a specialized communication device, while others were fitted for an adaptive bike that they’ll soon receive – all life-changing events for the children and their families. Variety’s “My Bike” program provides a custom Rifton bike for each child’s specific needs, as well as an opportunity to show off their individual personalities in the design of the bike. Range continued its support of Variety, presenting the organization with a $5,000 donation during yesterday’s program. Variety Pittsburgh is searching for eligible families in the region and needs help to spread the word.
