Sorrels – 60 years
Chuck and Judy Sorrels of Colorado Springs, Colo., celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with extended family at a family picnic held at their daughter Robin’s home in West Alexander this past August. Their daughter, Lori, and granddaughter, Ali, flew in from Colorado to surprise the couple.
Mr. and Mrs. Sorrels were married November 9, 1957, at Tinker AFB in Midwest City, Okla.
Their children are Robin (Randy) Sanders of West Alexander, Dwayne Sorrels of West Virginia and Lori Sorrels of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Their grandchildren are Christopher Sanders, Jessica Weaver, Shelby Sanders, Tyler Sorrels and Ali Sorrels. They have four great-grandchildren.
The couple met while both were serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Sorrels retired from the Air Force and then worked for water pump and supply companies. Mrs. Sorrels retired from the McGuffey school system.
