In this photo from the 2013 celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Rev. Richard White of Friendship Baptist Church of Washington offers reflections during a service marking the slain civil rights leader’s birthday.

Singers are needed to participate in the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Service at 4 p.m. on Jan. 14 at Friendship Baptist Church, 17 E. Walnut St., Washington.

Rehearsals will take place at 7 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at the church. The Rev. Sherri Martin-Moore of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pittsburgh, will be the guest director.

Sponsored by the Washington Branch of the NAACP, the Celebration Service will feature guest speaker, the Rev. Victor J. Grisby, pastor of Central Baptist Church, Pittsburgh. The Rev. Richard D. White Jr. will be host pastor.
