Prime Stage Theatre’s talent showcase seeks actors, singers of all ages
Actors and singers of all ages are invited to audition for Prime Stage Theatre’s “15 Minutes of Fame” talent showcase.
Auditions will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21, at Prime Stage Studio, lower level entrance, 840 Saw Mill Run Blvd., in Pittsburgh’s West End.
A panel of judges composed of Pittsburgh theater and music professionals will select singers and actors from three different age groups to perform in a talent showcase on March 12.
The showcase will be hosted by a celebrity emcee and performed on the set of Prime Stage’s “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” running March 9-18 at the New Hazlett Theater Center for the Performing Arts on the North Side.
There are three age categories: youth, ages 5-14; teens, ages 15-18; and adults, age 19 and older.
Auditions are by appointment only. Actors and singers are asked to send an email to auditions@primestage.com with full name, phone number and preferred audition time by 5 p.m. Jan. 19.
Each auditioner will receive an email confirming an appointment date and time within 48 hours. Auditions are scheduled in five-minute time slots. Walk-ins will be seen as time allows.
Those auditioning should prepare a one-minute dramatic monologue or song. Singers are asked to bring sheet music, along with musical instrument or CD to accompany themselves, as no accompanist will be provided.
All auditioners should bring a résumé and headshot.
