Jefferson Township Historical Society and Covering the Blue will participate in Burgettstown’s Panhandle Trails Festival, starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. To get involved, or to support Covering the Blue, which crochets lap blankets for wounded officers, stop by the booth or contact Diane Baughman Huggins at dhuggins2@verizon.net.

A flea market will be held at the East Franklin Grange, 2262 Smith Creek Road, Waynesburg, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds benefit the grange. For information, call 724-366-2803 or 724-627-8555.

Peters Creek Historical Society will host its annual picnic for members and guests at 6 p.m. Monday on the grounds of the Enoch Wright House located on Venetia Road in Venetia. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be provided; members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. A special invitation is extended to the Giant Oaks gardeners, who maintain the variety of gardens on site. The house and gardens will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, July 24, Aug. 7 and 21.

Martha Washington Quilters Guild will hold its monthly business meeting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on the third floor of Church of the Covenant, 276 East Beau St., Washington, followed by “show and tell” and a presentation, “Prelude to Curved Piecing.” Guests are welcome.

Greene County Photography Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, ownstairs at Waynesburg Bible Chapel, Greene Street, Waynesburg. This month’s program is still life photography. Club members should bring their cameras and objects to photograph. Members are reminded to bring three photos for this month’s challenge, “Insects.” New members are welcome.

Peters Township Parks and Recreation presents The Lava Game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Peterswood Park Amphitheater. The free concert will feature party rock music and a food truck.

Canonsburg Sportsmen’s Association and the Washington County Sportsmen’s League will sponsor a Youth Field Day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 4, at the Canonsburg Sportsmen’s Club, 1115 Allison Hollow Road, Washington. West Newton Center for Active Adults will hold a bus trip to Pittsburgh for a Pirates baseball game and fireworks night on Sept. 21. Bus departs from the West Newton firefigthers’ lot on Riverview Drive at 4 p.m. and the Belle Vernon park-and-ride lot at Route 70 and Route 201 at 4:15. Payment of $80 includes bus, driver tip, ticket to game and $10 coupon toward food. Send check payable to West Newton Senior Center to: 103 E. Main St. West Newton, PA 15089. West Newton Center for Active Adults will offer a one-day bus trip to Rivers Casino on Aug 14. Depart from the West Newton firefigthers’ lot on Riverview Drive at 10 a.m. and Belle Vernon park-and-ride lot at 10:15 a.m. Cost of $25 per person includes $30 in free play.
