TRPIL offers free camp

Transitional Paths to Independent Living (TRPIL) offers a free youth camp for those ages 12 and up that will focus on a variety of topics dealing with advocacy and independent living.
“We have a four-day youth camp from July 10-13 to work with youth from Washington, Greene and Fayette counties who would like to learn more about how to advocate for themselves,” said Ken Evans Jr., an independent living specialist for youth at TRPIL. “We encourage the middle, high school and young adults to attend this summer session.”
“TRPIL’s mission is to work with individuals who wish to remain independent and the youth are just beginning to discover themselves. We offer educational activities and support on advocacy and independent living all the time. In the summer, offering a youth day camp allows staff to take the message of advocacy and independence to a younger audience who are just beginning their lives’ journeys.” Evans said.
The four-day session is interspersed with learning, discussions on advocacy, assistive technology and recreational field trips, including bowling, fishing, fitness and a trip to Camp Spencer in Butler County.
To find out more about the camp and to register by July 3, contact Evans at 724-223-5115 ext. 1314 or ken@trpil.com.
