West Newton Library’s Second Annual Gift Basket Event will be held today at the Turkeytown fire hall, Supervisor’s Drive, West Newton. Doors open at noon with drawings beginning at 2:30 p.m. Tickets at the door are $12 and include lunch and 25 general gift basket tickets.
Little Lake Theatre Company, Canonsburg, will hold auditions for adult actors (age 18+) for its 2018 season from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday. A book launch and fundraiser will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Gallagher House, 429 Wood St., California. Martha Washington Garden Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. March 20 at Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 33 Manse St., Washington. The meeting follows a light lunch. Seniors for Safe Driving will offer a mature driver improvement course to help drivers understand how aging affects driving abilities and provide insight about driving on today’s roadways. The next course will be offered from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Masontown Senior Center. Courses are PennDOT approved and designed for drivers age 55 and older. A Property Tax Rent Rebate Outreach, hosted by State Rep. Jason Ortitay, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday at Heritage Public Library, 52 Fourth Street, McDonald. The program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians who are 65 years of age or older, widows and widowers 50 years or older, and those 18 years or older with disabilities. Our Lady of Grace Church, Scott Township, is seeking artists to participate in an exhibition of their work in the 2018 Pentecost Sacred Arts Festival, set for May 16-20. The juried exhibit will showcase and foster appreciation of sacred artistic expression. Artwork submitted for exhibition are required to be in the Judeo-Christian Tradition. Total cash prizes of $1,200 will be awarded. Deadline for entries is Friday. Hewitt Cemetery, Rices Landing, announces its spring cleanup will begin March 26. All Christmas and winter decorations will be removed. Those wishing to keep any decorations should have them removed by this date.
