The Mon-Yough Chapter 3 of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology will meet Thursday, March in Room 203 of Frich Hall on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania. There will be a business meeting at 7 p.m., followed at 7:30 by featured speaker Jeffrey Sumey, Ph.D. His topic will be “The Use of Drones in Archaeology.” Refreshments will be served. H&R Block will hold a free community shredding event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdayat the H&R Block office located at Tri-County Plaza, 241 Tri-County Lane, Belle Vernon. Each participant is allowed one box of personal information to be shredded. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-HR-BLOCK.

The Senator John Heinz History Center’s sixth annual Vintage Pittsburgh retro fair, presented in partnership with The Neighborhood Flea, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature local vendors selling genuine vintage clothing, accessories, home décor, vinyl records and more. A special Vintage Pittsburgh discounted admission will be offered on this day, at $10 for general admission and $6.50 for students and children ages 6 to 17. The Social Service League will hold its annual Easter egg hunt Saturday at West Park in Waynesburg, near Bowlby Public Library. The egg hunt is open to children 10 years of age and younger. The park will be divided into separate areas for five different age groups. Children should bring a basket or bag for gathering their eggs and the Easter bunny will be on-hand to greet children and pose for photos. The egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. Rain date will be March 31. Len Lehman will present “Developing a Rock Garden” at 10 a.m. Saturdayin the new Therapeutic Art Garden at Premier Washington Health Center, 36 Old Hickory Ridge Road, Washington. The event is hosted by Gardening Partners of PA Master Gardeners.

At Faith Community Church Lakeside, 337 Waterdam Road, McMurray, a Walk with Jesus event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Designed for families, this free event will welcome Jesus on Palm Sunday, sit down for the Last Supper, experience the Garden of Gethsemane, discover the sacrifice on Good Friday, and rejoice in the Resurrection. Friendship Community Church, 1090 Weirich Ave., Washington, will hold a chicken and biscuits dinner with desserts from 3 to 6 p.m Saturday. Donations will be taken at the door and proceeds given to nonprofit Faith in Action, one of TRPIL Community Services’ programs. Faith in Action matches community and church volunteers with seniors and individuals with disabilities who need a little help to remain independent. Friendship Community Church is fully accessible. An Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Brooks-Crago American Legion, 133 Carmichaels St., Rices Landing, at 2 p.m. Sunday. This is a free event for children up to age 12 years of age. To register, call 724-710-0327. Attendees are asked to bring an Easter basket.

The Myasthenia Gravis Association of Western PA (MGA) will hold its fourth annual Brush for Bob paint n’ sip event to benefit the organization’s free patient support services. The event will be held April 7 at Thistlethwaite Vineyards, 151 Thistlethwaite Lane, Jefferson. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a free wine tasting. Participants also receive a free glass of wine and light refreshments. A basket raffle and 50/50 raffle will also be featured. Wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle. Burgettstown Area Middle/High School will host an Elizabethan Fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 26,at the high school. The fair committee is asking the public if any experts of the time period would be interested in presenting any time that day to share new perspectives. The Bradford House Museum presents The Symposium on Life and Customs in Western Pennsylvania: An Evening with John Adams, April 6 at The Chapel at Old Main, Washington & Jefferson College, Washington. Adams will be portrayed by Peyton Dixon of the American Historical Theatre. Doors and displays open at 6:30 p.m. followed by speakers at 7. The reception begins at 9. Westmoreland County’s eighth annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event, the International Men’s March to End Sexual Assault, Rape and Gender Violence, will be held at 10 a.m. April 21 at Offutt Field and Stadium, 109 Laird Street, Greensburg. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Limited parking is available inside the stadium and walkers are encouraged to find approved parking on E.
