Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club will meet at 6 p.m. April 5 in Carmichaels Methodist Church’s fellowship hall. This will be the club’s annual “Rose’s Tea Party.” Entertainment will be provided by Shepherd’s Voice, a women’s quartet from New Eagle. All members are encouraged to attend this meeting and bring a guest. Members are also reminded to bring items for the Salvation Army’s Birthday Club. New members are welcome.

A community dinner will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 5 at Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington. The menu will include creamed chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or fruit, dessert and beverage. Seniors for Safe Driving will offer a mature driver improvement course to help drivers understand how aging affects driving abilities and provide insight about driving on today’s roadways. The next course will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon April 5 at Monessen Senior Center. Courses are PennDOT approved and designed for drivers age 55 and older. Stop by the Monongahela Historical Society Museum and pick up a brochure for a self-guided walking tour of the Monongahela Historic District, featuring 22 historic locations. Brochures are available in the MAHS Museum outside doorway in the covered brochure holder. Smartphone technology incorporated into the tour includes video and narration for each location. Mobsters, Molls and Marinara, a murder mystery dinner, will be held at 7 p.m. April 13 at Bentleyville Fire Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There will be an auction, 50/50 and raffle tickets at this BYOB event. Tickets at $30 per person include dinner, dessert, drinks and the show. Seating is limited. The West Newton Library, 124 N. Water Street, is seeking volunteers that can commit to working two hours April 13, beginning at 9 a.m. The task involves moving boxes of books from the library into a pickup truck, and then unloading the truck into the West Newton gym for the library’s sale. Interested individuals are asked to call the library at 724-633-0798 and leave a name and phone number.

The “Light Your Heart” spring dance workshop will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. April 14 at the Thomas Dance Studio in Bridgeville. All area dancers are invited to participate. The workshop will be divided into two age groups: Mini, ages 7-11, and Teen/Adult, ages 12 and up. Register at www.lightyourheartup.com for $20, or at door for $25. Each registered participant will receive a free “Light Your Heart” tank or t-shirt (size is guaranteed with preregistration). Proceeds benefit the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh.
