Election Day events
An Election Day spaghetti dinner will be held from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Cokeburg Presbyterian Church. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread, cake and coffee, tea or orange drink (beverages are not available for takeout.) Pop will be sold separately. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and under. Takeout will be available. For information, call 724-945-6758.
An Election Day spaghetti dinner will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Mingo Creek Presbyterian Church, Route 88 and Mingo Church Road, Finleyville. Dinner includes spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, Italian bread, dessert and drink. Cost is $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. Takeout is available, and containers will be provided. Upper Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Road South, Washington (Hopewell Township), will sponsor an Election Day bake sale and soup and sandwich sale beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building, 20 Parkview Road, Avella.
Center Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will serve food at the Center Township Fire Hall in Rogersville from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, May 15. Carryout will be available. The menu includes: breakfast – sausage gravy and biscuit with muffins and pastries; lunch – hot dogs, sloppy joes, ham barbecue sandwiches, macaroni salad, cabbage and noodles, kielbasa and sauerkraut, desserts and drinks; dinner (4 to 7 p.m.) – creamed chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, peas, applesauce, dessert and drink. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under.
West Newton Church of God, 157 N. Second Street, will hold an Election Day luncheon featuring soup, sandwiches, desserts, beverages and salads, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15. Enter to the right beside the church to the handicapped entrance with elevator that will take you to the downstairs dining room.
