Fort Cherry to graduate 82
Fort Cherry High School will hold commencement ceremonies for 82 graduates at 7 p.m. Friday in the high school gymnasium.
Valedictorian is Emily Suzanne Richard and salutatorian is Madeline Kendra Krocker.
Richard is the daughter of Daniel and Karen Richard of McDonald. She received the Governor’s STEM Challenge first-place scholarship, the Zonta regional Amelia Earhart Award, the HOBY Academic All-Star award and Comcast Leaders and Achievers scholarship. She was a Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Key regional winner for six years, a regional winner in the National History Contest, and won the Bradford House Regional History Center photo contest.
She was the founder of the Fort Cherry Society of Women Engineers STEM Club, and a member of the tennis team, Strive, National Honor Society, STEM team and vice president of the prom committee. She plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering and major in chemical engineering.
Krocker is the daughter of Quinn Krocker of McDonald. She received the Dr. Charles M. Hughey Award and the Duquesne University academic scholarship. She plans to attend Duquesne University to major in pharmacy.
She was co-captain of the cheerleading squad, president of Student Council and president of National Honor Society.
