AARP Tax-Aide, the nations’ largest free volunteer-run tax counseling and preparation service, is seeking volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to assist in tax preparation. Tax counselors receive free tax training certification from the Internal Revenue Service and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. A Holiday Craft and Vendor Show will be held on the lower level of Citizens Library, 55 S. College St., Washington, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10. A light lunch is available. The event is sponsored by Friends of Citizens Library, which operates the CitiBooks book store. The book store will be open during the show. All proceeds benefit Citizens Library.

The National Pike Chapter of the DAR will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Woodlands Clubhouse. The program is “My Unexpected Journey to America” by Jasna Basaric-Keys. Washington Health System Auxiliary will sponsor a cookie sale by Cookie Paradise from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 12 and 13, in the Community Room, featuring assorted homemade cookies. Orders will also be taken for cookie trays (small tray of 4-dozen and large tray of 8-dozen cookies). Orders can be picked up between 9 a.m. and noon on Monday, Dec. 17, at the Volunteer Services Department.
