Cyprowski Candy changes North Strabane locations
Barb Cyprowski found a sweet new location for her business.
“We gained more space, and the space was perfectly divided for what we do,” the owner of Cyprowski Candy Co. said Friday, during the soft opening of her shop at 164 Conklin Road, North Strabane Township. Until recently, the company operated in North Strabane Towne Center along Route 19, next to Bethel Bakery.
Magnolia Nails and Spa will be the bakery’s new neighbor.
Cyprowski Candy was, and will continue to be, an on-site maker of gourmet apples and candy. It is a business that peaks during holiday seasons, one that fills and ships a lot of online orders.
Cyprowski said the new digs had been vacant for a few years, a stand-alone building that was last occupied by a photography shop. She has operated her business for 21 years, the past seven at North Strabane Towne Center.
The enterprise previously known as Country Confections Chocolates had its own space during most of its time there. Cyprowski said the square footage was too big for the shop’s purposes, though, and when the Bethel Bakery owners were looking to open a second location in the summer of 2016, she agreed to share it with the Bethel Park-based business. Renovations eventually gave each a separate shop.
“We had two bays and went down to one,” Cyprowski said of the initial Towne Center location. “We found out that two was too much, one was not enough, so we decided to look.”
Now moved in, the store is operating on its holiday schedule: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
’A’ for St. Clair

Leapfrog Group released grades of A, B, C, D and F on Thursday for more than 2,600 hospitals nationwide. It uses safety data to assign the grades twice a year.
