Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will hold a Needle and Yarn Craft Workshop at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Mingo Creek Park Office. The craft will be a Christmas-themed mason jar. Bring a small batch of your favorite holiday cookies, along with the recipe. Refreshments will be provided. Fee is $3. Peters Township Parks & Recreation will hold Tween Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at the Community Recreation Center. Tweens 9-12 years of age can socialize, play games (basketball, air hockey, ping pong, board games and more), make a craft and enjoy snacks. Cost for the chaperoned event is $5 for members and $8 for non-members. A representative of BEG Group LLC, located in Cambridge, Ohio, will answer questions about manufacturing silt socks filled with switchgrass at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Washington County Conservation District office, 50 Old Hickory Ridge Road, Washington. Silt socks are used to control erosion at construction sites. Silt socks filled with switchgrass are lighter and easier to move than traditional silt socks.
