Table games revenue drops at Meadows, across state

Gross revenue from table games played at the state’s 12 casinos last month dropped 8.12 percent from the previous October, according to figures released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Collectively, the 12 casinos collected $66,534,318 in revenue, down from $72,416,690.

The Meadows was among the culprits, as its table revenue plummeted 18.67 percent to $3,035,543 from $3,732,598. That was the third month in a row that Pennsylvania casinos experienced a slight decline and the North Strabane Township venue took a big hit.

Only five casinos posted gains from October 2017. Revenue at Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, skyrocketed over the year by 49.23 percent – to $411,031 from $275,442. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, posted a 10.86 percent rise ($6,171,090 from $5,566,724).

The control board reported $10,696,636 in tax revenue was generated by table games play last month, with an average of 1,285 tables operating daily.

October figures for slots play were reported earlier. Statewide, total gaming revenue decreased 3.49 percent over the year, to $252,789,874 from $261,944,183. That was a decrease of about $9.2 million.

The Meadows posted a 5.11 percent decline overall in October, to $20,294,794 from $21,387,336. Rivers’ total revenue rose 5.10 percent (to $28,192,622 from $26,823,874). Lady Luck’s figure dropped 11.56 percent (to $2,546,270 from $2,879,202).
