The Rotary Club of Washington presented dictionaries to third-graders at Trinity East Elementary School Nov. 9 as part of the service club’s literacy initiative. The club has distributed more than 9,700 dictionaries since the inception of the program. The club’s goal is to provide a dictionary to every third-grader in the Avella, Burgettstown, Fort Cherry, McGuffey, Trinity and Washington school districts, along with Faith Christian School in Washington. A few of the happy youngsters receiving dictionaries at Trinity East were, from left, Matthew Richards, Easton Dulaney, Teagan Barr and Cooper Meeks. All are students in Mitzi Chambers’ third-grade classroom.
