Pittsburgh Southpointe will host children from Canon-McMillan School District for its annual gingerbread event. The event will take place from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. today. Children and teachers are invited each year to take part in holiday craft making activites in the ballroom of the hotel. Activities this year will include decorating gingerbread houses, creating ornaments, decorating cookies, a tour of the hotel and lunch from the Garden Grill.
The next business meeting of Mon/Yough Chapter 3 of Society for Pennsylvania will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at 203 Frich Hall, California University of Pennsylvania. This will be followed, at 7:30, by speaker Leighann Wharton, a junior anthropology major at Cal U. The title of her talk will be “Aditu Arkeologia: Bioarchaeology Summer Field School in Spain.”
Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a roast pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Community Center, Jefferson Road and North Washington Street. Menu includes mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, candy carrots, applesauce, pickled beets, rolls, desserts and beverages. Adults are $12; children 12 and under are $5.
