Purchase ticketsMonongahela Area Historical Society’s Annual Candlelight Ghostwalk will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 and Saturdays, Oct. 13 and 20, at Chess Park. Cost is $10 per person. Faith Christian School is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser through Nov. 30 to raise funds for its 2018-2019 High School Formal. The school will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, and Funds2Orgs will issue a check to the school for the collected shoes. Shoes will be redistributed throughout Funds2Orgs network of small business partners in developing countries. Downtown West Newton Inc.’s (DWNI) Annual Rocktoberfest Car, Truck and Bike Cruise/Show will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Vine Street Park at the corner of Fifth and Vine in West Newton. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and trophies will be awarded around 4 p.m. The event, held rain or shine, will feature music from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s, homemade pierogies, cabbage rolls and apple pie, gift baskets, 50/50 and lottery tree raffle. Bring a chair. Registration is $5 per vehicle; a limited number of dash plaques will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Seniors for Safe Driving offers mature driver improvement courses to help drivers understand how aging affects driving abilities and provide insight about driving on today’s roadways.
