The eighth annual West Virginia Women’s Extravaganza, the largest women’s expo in West Virginia, will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Mylan Park’s Ruby Community Center. The event will feature more than 100 vendor booths, entertainment, health screenings, games and a fashion show. Admission is $9. There will be a “Children of the Floods” Toy Drive. Martha Washington Garden Club will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 in Laboratory Presbyterian Church, 33 Manse St., Washington. The program will be “Our Journey from Black to Green,” from a representative of the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. The region’s coal-mining past to building gardens for the future will be discussed. Donations, particularly personal care items, will be collected for the women’s shelter. The meeting follows a light lunch.
