Table games revenue drops significantly at Meadows

1 min read

Gross revenue from table games played at the state’s 12 casinos last month dropped 4.37 percent from the previous September, according to figures released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

The Meadows was a culprit, as its table revenue plummeted 18.38 percent to $2,012,210 from $2,465,264. That was the second month in a row that Pennsylvania casinos experienced a slight decline and the North Strabane Township venue took a big hit.

Only five casinos posted gains from September 2017. Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, had the largest increase of all, 18.0 percent ($6,775,918 from $5,742,241). Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, was down 50.74 percent – to $225,390 from $457,523.

Collectively, the 12 casinos collected $72,310,207 in revenue, down from $75,615,712.

The control board reported $11,634,379 in tax revenue was generated by table games play last month, with an average of 1,281 tables operating daily.

September figures for slots play were reported earlier. Statewide, total gaming revenue decreased 0.92 percent over the year, to $268,519,825 from $271,012,678. That was a decrease of about $2.5 million.

The Meadows posted a 2.48 percent decline overall in September, to $19,667,925 from $20,168,042. Rivers’ total revenue rose 5.28 percent (to $29,771,379 from $28,278,139), while Lady Luck’s figure dropped 8.59 percent (to $2,751,150 from 3,009,703).
