Workshop to focus on opioid addiction crisis

Churches and individuals addressing the opioid addiction crisis are invited to learn to use motivational interviewing to encourage, support and pray for individuals in each one’s journey toward health and wholeness at a Motivational Interviewing Workshop set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Chartiers Hill U.P. Church, 2230 Washington Road, Canonsburg.

Cost for the workshop, led by Vanessa H. Worley, MPAS, PA-C, associate professor and physician assistant at University of Mount Union’s Physician Assistant Studies Program, is $10 per person or $5 per person for church groups of three or more. Scholarships may be requested. To register, call 724-746-1330 or email secretary@hillchurch.org. Copies of Gerald May’s book, “Addiction and Grace,” will be available for $10.
