Henry – 70 years
Richard S. and Shirley Anne (Young) Henry of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Washington, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a small family party at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry were married Sept. 4, 1948, in Jefferson Avenue Methodist Church, Washington.
Their children are Louanne Frederickson of Harrisburg and Jeannie (Steve) Conway of Jacksonville.
Their grandchildren are Ricky Conway and Taylyn (Welsh) Conway.
Mr. Henry enjoyed a long career with the B&O and Chessie System railroads, and retired as chief of engineering of CSX in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Henry worked for Bell Telephone in Washington and did volunteer work for a hospital in Baltimore, Md. As a homemaker and mother, she volunteered her artistic talents for many school activities.
The couple were both born and raised in Washington.
