Washington Art Association, located at Citizens Library, offers fall classes from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays, with instructor John Luginski. Adults and teens of all skill levels are welcome, with work to include sketching, and acrylic, oil, pastel and watercolor painting. Painting classes will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 17-Nov. 5, at Heritage Public Library, 52 4th St., McDonald. Taught by Lisa Rasmussen, BFA, MS, MFA, the class offers a choice of acrylic, oil or watercolor painting. Participants should bring reference images of what they would like to work on. A supply list will be provided upon registration. Cost is $100 per person, and no refunds will be given after the first class. The Monongahela Valley NAACP will hold a meeting for the election of a nominating committee for the November election of Unit 2274 officers. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Baptist Church, 49 South McKean Ave., Donora. All members whose membership is current as of 30 days prior to the meeting date may be elected.

In a continuing effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, the Knox family of Cokeburg will host a Magical Family “Funraiser” from 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Cokeburg Volunteer Fire Dept. Social Hall, 171 Lincoln St. There will be family-friendly entertainment, including magic, juggling, fire eating, sword swallowing, standup comedy, balloon twisting and caricatures. Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church, 2230 Washington Road, Canonsburg, will hold its annual flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 22. Lunch will be available and baked goods will be sold. Vendor space is available at a cost of $10 per 10-foot by 10-foot space. Table rental is an additional $5.
