Fundraiser helps families of service members
Families First, a fundraiser to support a scholarship for families of service members, will be held Oct. 5 in the California University of Pennsylvania Convocation Center.
A sit-down dinner will begin at 6 p.m., with Denise Rohan, past national commander of the American Legion, serving as keynote speaker. For an additional fee, guests can meet Rohan, Pennsylvania commander James Vollrath and other dignitaries at a Commanders Reception starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Convocation Center’s south wing.
Light appetizers will be available, and guests can have a photo taken with Rohan. Tickets to the dinner and keynote address are $25 per person. For an additional $15, guests can attend the Commanders Reception.

Prior to attending the Families First activities, guests can visit We Can Do It! WWII, a free exhibition of World War II memorabilia on display through Oct. 5 in the Manderino Library.
