VFW Post 191 Voice of Democracy winners

VFW Post 191, Canonsburg, announces the scholarship winners for the 2018-2019 VFW audio essay contest “Voice of Democracy” for high school students and the essay contest “Patriots Pen” for middle school students. Students compete at the local VFW post, district, state and national levels with prizes up to $30,000. Along with their certificates, each winner was awarded a scholarship of $200, $100 and $50 respectively for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The theme for Voice of Democracy was “Why My Vote Matters.” VFW Post 191 Service Officer Eric Bookmiller is pictured with VOC winners, all from Canon-McMillan High School, from left: 1st place, Maria I.
