West Greene Lions Outstanding Students
West Greene Area Lions Club has named Courtney Ross and Sydnee Watson as its Outstanding Students. Courtney is the daughter of Steve and Brandie Ross of Aleppo. She is secretary of Future Farmers of America. At school she is on the volleyball and rifle teams, and is a member of the Science Club, Ski Club and National Honor Society. Her community service includes volunteering at the Sheep and Fiber Fest and 4-H Day Camp. Courtney plans to attend Waynesburg University to major in elementary education with an emphasis in special education. She hopes to one day teach second grade. Sydnee is the daughter of Trina and George Watson of Hargus Creek. She is a member of the National Honor Society, president of the National Technical Honor Society, Cosmetology class president and Skills USA. She has achieved Highest Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance, and has been awarded for Outstanding Student and American Citizenship. She has volunteered with Servsafe, City Mission, Save a Horse Stables, blood drives and was a Special Olympics coach. Sydnee plans to attend Penn Commercial Technical College with hopes of obtaining a cosmetology license, and also hopes to have a career as a wedding/event planner and venue owner.
