The Martha Washington Garden Club of Washington is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a Washington County student who has completed at least one year of college or university and plans to continue their education in agricultural, conservation or environmental studies.

To apply:

• Give personal information (Name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, high school, high school extracurricular activities, and ranking in your graduating class).

• Submit a maximum 500-word essay stating your goals, financial need and special interests. Also discuss why you have chosen your course of study and why you should be considered for this scholarship.

• Enclose a copy of your transcripts.

Mail the material to Mary Dobich, 224 Little Creek Road, Marianna, PA, 15345-1204. Material must be received by June 30.
