Marine Corps League presents awards
Marine Corps League Detachment 1138 recently presented a certificate of appreciation to the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System’s Chaplain Services.
Receiving the award was the Rev. Paul Dordal, center, chief of chaplain services, and Dr. Jason Fay, left, acting associate director of VAPHS. Also receiving an award was Monsignor Joseph Lamonde, retired U.S. Navy captain, center, who was presented a Distinguished Service Award/Medal in recognition of his decades of service in uniform. Now with the VA, he rose to serve as the 13th chaplain of the Marine Corps/Deputy Chief of Chaplains, U.S. Navy. He served with the corps for more than 30 of his military years.
