The Safari Club International (SCI) Three State Chapter, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the rights of hunters and promoting wildlife conservation and education in Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland, will hold a fundraising banquet at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the Hilton Garden Inn-Southpointe. International hunts in South Africa, Argentina and Spain are among the excursions featured for auction at the banquet, in addition to firearms, archery equipment and other outdoor-related products. Tickets are $75 per person, with table sponsorships available at a cost of $750 per 10-person table. Seating is limited. Dinner/admission tickets must be purchased by Feb. 26. Call 724-344-7025.

The Mon Valley NAACP Unit # 2274, in support of Black History Month and the Martin Luther King vision of service and giving, will hold a canned and dry goods drive in conjunction with the Westmoreland County Food Bank. Donations of non-perishable items can be deposited in the food bank’s receptacle located in the lobby at Monessen Public Library, 326 Donner Ave., through Feb. 14 during regular business hours. Donora Public Library will hold a meet and greet for former Ohio Congressman James Renacci at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. The Monongahela native and Ringgold High School graduate served 4 terms in the US House of Representatives from the 16th district in Ohio from 2011-2019. He was ranked 17th top leader in the House during the 115th Congress.

The Washington Hospital Auxiliary’s first vendor sale of 2019 is a purse sale set for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 11 and 12, in the hospital’s Community Room. The “In the Bag” sale will feature brand names such as Michael Kors, Nine West and more designer purses, briefcases, luggage and small leather goods at 30, 50 and 60 percent off regular retail value. To learn about upcoming sales, look for flyers posted in the hospital, listen to WJPA Radio or look for notices in the newspaper.

The monthly meeting of the South Hills Coin Club will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2999 Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park. This month’s program will be on Liberty Walking half dollars. A 50/50 will be held and children’s prizes will be awarded. Membership applications are now being accepted.
