Waynesburg Elementary WQED Writing Contest
WQED has partnered with the EQT Foundation for the last 10 years for a writing contest. The contest encourages kids in grades K-5 from around the country to write and illustrate original stories and submit them for awards through the station. To encourage schools to get in on the action and encourage students to write and submit stories, WQED has been offering schools from around the area Publishing Centers-physical materials that will help kids make their story into a book. The Publishing Center includes a printer, toner, paper, a binding machine, coils for the binding machine and a sign. Pictured are Michelle Imler and Gwen Anderson, WQED Writing Contest managers, who personally delivered the publishing center materials to Waynesburg Central Elementary School.
