Revenue jumps in January at Meadows Casino
The Meadows Casino apparently was a hot destination for bettors last month, as table games revenue and total revenue soared from the previous January.
Table games revenue increased 148 percent, from $1,518,994 to $3,777,027, according to figures released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. That is a $2.26 million increase over the year.
Total revenue at the North Strabane Township gaming site – including slots play, which had been reported earlier – was $19,154,233. That was a 16.99 percent, or $2.8 million, bump from $16,372,497 in January 2018. Percentage-wise, those were the largest year-over-year increases among Pennsylvania’s 12 operating casinos.
Statewide, table games revenue rose 4.75 percent, from $71,032,273 to $74,409,695. Total revenue also increased marginally – 2.18 percent – from $248.827,400 to $254,251,845.
The Meadows, Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, Parx and SugarHouse were the only facilities to post increases in both categories.
Rivers had a 19.39 percent jump in table games revenue last month (from $5,820,242 to $6,948,728) and a 12.75 percent bump in overall revenue (from $26,899,215 to $30,329,987).
Table games revenue at Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, Fayette County, dropped 11.85 percent in January (from $357,836 to $315,070). Overall revenue fell 18.95 percent (from $2,392,736 to $1,939,226).
Tax revenue from table games play was $11,950,299 last month, with an average of 1,279 tables operating daily.
