First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg, 161 West Pike St., welcomes all to its monthly free community spaghetti dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 21. Takeout is available until 5:30 p.m. Please call 724-745-5771 to order. The dinner is held every third Friday of the month.
Fairmount United Methodist Church, East Finley, will hold its annual Strawberry Festival from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21. Homemade pies, sandwiches and fresh strawberries will be among the menu items available. A love offering will be accepted.
The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will be presenting public Star Parties on Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, at Mingo Creek Observatory. The observatory is located near Shelter 10 in Mingo Creek County Park. The program will begin at dusk. Viewing will take place as long as there is a partly clear sky. If it is raining or cloudy, the program will be canceled. Reservations are not required for Star Parties, and there is no fee for the program.
