Volunteers honored
Bob and Arlene Barth were among more than 70 volunteers from Perryopolis Senior Center, Center on the Hill and Brownfield satellite Senior Centers who were honored May 30 at Center on the Hill in Washington Township. While Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services’ Aging Services has traditionally honored volunteers at an annual appreciation dinner, this year three separate dinners were held to thank those who serve senior citizens throughout the Mon Valley. Earlier in May, dinners were held in Monongahela and Charleroi. The events are held to honor those who deliver noon-time meals daily to homebound seniors as well as those who volunteer at the five senior centers in the Mon Valley.
