Fish fries
California Volunteer Fire Department will hold fish fries from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday, March 6 and every Friday throughout Lent. The menu includes fish sandwiches and fish dinners, hand-breaded fish sandwiches, shrimp and shrimp dinners, clams, chicken strips and fries, provolone sticks, coleslaw, haluski, mac and cheese, and baked fish dinners after 3 p.m.
Cokeburg Presbyterian Church will hold Lenten fish fries from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ash Wednesday, March 6, and Fridays, March 22 and April 5. The menu includes: scrod fish dinner and shrimp dinner, which include fries or mac and cheese, coleslaw, dessert, orange drink or coffee/tea; mac and cheese dinner with roll, coleslaw and dessert; and fish sandwich. The First United Methodist Church will offer $5 luncheons from noon to 1 p.m. every Wednesday for five weeks, March 13-April 10. In addition to lunch a different minister will give a meditation concerning Lent each week. The church is located at the corner of Beau and College streets in Washington.

Marianna Volunteer Fire Company will hold fish fries from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Ash Wednesday, March 6 and the following Fridays during Lent: March 15, 22, 29, April 12 and 19. There will not be a fish fry on March 8. The menu includes: fish, shrimp and crab cake dinners, fish sandwiches, seafood platter, crab cakes, shrimp, clam strips, chicken nuggets, haluski, pierogies, soup, French fries, onion rings, desserts and beverages. Mt. Pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary will hold Lenten fish fries from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. beginning Friday, March 8, through Good Friday, April 19. The menu includes: hand-breaded fish sandwich, chicken strips, shrimp, French fries, cabbage and noodles, pierogies, macaroni and cheese, and coleslaw. Homemade desserts are also offered. The menu includes: jumbo shrimp platter, fish sandwich platter, fish on a dish platter, crab cake platter, crab cake basket, shrimp basket, fish sandwich, fish on a dish, homemade cabbage and noodles, and a kid’s platter which includes fish, shrimp or chicken. St. Damien of Molokai Catholic Church will hold Lenten fish fries beginning on Ash Wednesdays, March 6, and every Friday during Lent (except Good Friday). Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu includes: fish dinner (baked or fried), jumbo shrimp dinner and crab cake dinner, all served with two sides; the “Big Kahuna” sandwich, fish sandwich, jumbo shrimp, crab cakes and pizza by the slice. St. Mary’s Anglican Church located at Sixth and Lookout in Charleroi will hold Lenten Fish Fry Fridays featuring fried fish or crab cake dinner with coleslaw, hush puppies, cake, coffee or tea (eat-in only) and halushki or fries; baked fish dinner with same sides (must call ahead); kid’s fish stick dinner with fries; fish or crab cake sandwich; separate halushki, pierogies with onions, fries, hush puppies, soda or water.
