Slots revenue dips at Meadows, up a little statewide

Gross revenue from slot machine play increased at Pennsylvania casinos last month, compared with February 2018. But the difference was marginal, the state Gaming Control Board reported Monday.

Revenue at the 12 gaming sites last month totaled $189,976,151.61. That was a a $920,000 bump – or 0.49 percent – from $189,056,194.76 the previous February. Tax revenue from slots play was $98,909,238.

The Meadows Casino, in North Strabane Township, experienced a dip of about a half-million dollars (2.94 percent) over the year. Revenue last month was $16,603,575.29, compared with $17,105,972.97 the previous February.

Rivers Casino, on Pittsburgh’s North Side, posted a 3.88 percent gain in February. Revenue was $23,474,693.34, a jump of about $900,000 from $22,598,530.03. Rivers was among seven casinos that showed increases.

Lady Luck Casino Nemacolin, in Fayette County, conversely experienced the largest decline – 14.07 percent. Revenue fell nearly $300,000 from February 2018, to $1,939,404.60 from $2,256,981.24.

An average of 25,227 slot machines operated statewide last month, 564 fewer than a year earlier.
