Jefferson-Morgan Lions Students of the Month – January
Jefferson-Morgan Centennial Lions Club named Adam Hobe and Julianna Kline as its Students of the Month for January. Adam is the son of Joyce and Tim Hobe of Rices Landing and a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School where he maintains a 3.83 GPA. He is two-year member of National Honor Society, a two-year member of Leo Club, and a member of drama club. In January, he was recognized as a Herald-Standard Fall Scholar Athlete. He is a three-year letterman on the golf team, and a member of the track team and USA Track and Field. Adam volunteers regularly at community events, including the Rices Landing Hammer-in, Jefferson-Morgan Light Up Night and Kicking Cancer’s Butt Kickball Tournament. He plans to attend Carlow University to pursue a career in cardiovascular perfusion. Julianna is the daughter of Brad and Janette Kline of Rices Landing and a senior at Jefferson-Morgan High School, where she maintains a 3.94 GPA. She is a three-year member of National Honor Society, a four-year member of Leo Club, and a member of Academic Team, Debate Team, Envirothon and Science Olympiad. Recently, Julianna wrote a business plan for a coffee shop as a project for Entrepreneurship class. She presented her business idea to a group of local judges, and was selected as the first place winner. As a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, she volunteers for vacation Bible school. She has participated in Kicking Cancer’s Butt Kickball Tournament, Rices Landing Light-up Night and Jefferson-Morgan Light Up Night. Julianna plans to attend West Virginia University to major in marketing.
