Waynesburg University will host the second annual Cyber and Financial Crime Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 28. The conference is open to professionals and students in three areas, including CPA & Forensic Accounting, Cyber Security and Law Enforcement. The cost is $35. The Monessen/Rostraver Rotary and Knights of Columbus – 954 Monessen Council will host a spaghetti dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 31, at the Knights of Columbus Hall located at 1925 Grand Avenue in Monessen. Cost of the meal, which includes spaghetti, meatballs, tossed salad, dessert and coffee, is $9 for adults and $6 for children under 12. Tickets are available at the door or they can be purchased in advance from members of the two groups. Dine in or take-out meals are available. For information, call Kristen Joseph at 724-684-7393. Monies generated from the event are used for community projects by both organizations and by the Rotary to support scholarships for high school seniors at Monessen and Belle Vernon high schools.
The Finleyville Food Pantry is raising funds to purchase Key Bank in Finleyville to use as its new location. Donations can be sent to: Finleyville Food Pantry Building Fund, 415 Main Street, New Eagle, PA 15067.
The Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a baked steak dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 22, in the Jefferson Community Center, 192 Jefferson Road. The menu will include baked steak, mashed potatoes, candy carrots, green beans, coleslaw, pickled beets, rolls, dessert and beverage. Cost is $12 adults and $5 for children age 12 and under.
Nationally known gospel artists Chandler Moore, Kendall McDowell and Geoffrey Golden will be the featured performers when Cal U’s Young and Gifted Gospel Choir hosts its annual Joyfest gospel concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 23, in the Performance Center located on the second floor of the Natali Student Center. The Ladies Auxiliary at New Freeport Fire Hall will sponsor a country music event from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Dick Rutan & Friends will perform from 7 to 8:30 followed by Short Cut Junction from 8:30 to 10. Admission is $5.
