The Keep PA Beautiful – Great PA Clean Up will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 6, at both Mingo Creek County Park and Cross Creek County Park. Washington County Department of Parks & Recreation will provide trash bags and gloves, as well as a grilled hot dog and bottle of water for participants after the event. Groups will meet at Shelter 4 at Mingo or Shelter 3 (Route 50 side) at Cross Creek. Dress appropriately for the weather and light hiking. Reservations are requested by calling 724-228-6867.
The Hope Players will hold an open meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Hopedale United Methodist Church, located at 237 Church Street in Hopedale. At the meeting, the future of the group as well as a possible new venue will be discussed after the impending closing of Harrison East Elementary School. The Martha Washington Quilters Guild will hold its monthly business meeting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Church of the Covenant, third floor, 276 East Beau Street, Washington. After the meeting there will be a show and tell along with the presentation “Stained Glass and Silhouette Quilts” by Sue James and Mary Anne Halulko. Guests are welcome.
The Greene County Photography Club will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Waynesburg Bible Chapel located on Greene Street. This month’s program will be a show and tell. Club members are asked to bring some of their favorite photographs to display, and will then have the opportunity to share information about their photos. Members are reminded to bring three photos for this month’s photo challenge, “Snow.” New members are welcome.
