The Bradford House Museum, 175 S. Main St., Washington, will host a Hands on History Day Camp, focused on 18th-century living, from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 through 9. Campers will experience the 1790s through a variety of activities such as crafts, games, food, music and school lessons. They will be provided with period clothing to wear. David and Elizabeth Bradford and other historic figures will interact with the campers. The program, created and presented by a team of retired teachers who are now docents at the museum, is designed for children who have completed grades three, four or five. Register online at www.bradfordhouse.org. The cost is $100 per child, and enrollment slots are limited.

The Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh will hold free Star Parties at Mingo Creek Park Observatory, Mansion Hill Extension, past Shelter 10, on Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25. Safe solar observing will begin at 6:30 p.m., with night sky observing starting at about 8:45 p.m., weather permitting. Planetarium presentations will occur rain or shine.
