‘The Wizard of Oz’ opens WPA season

“The Wizard of Oz” will open the 2022-23 season of the Westmoreland Performing Arts Theatre Company.
“So many of us have a special place in our heart for this show, and now we are sharing it with a new generation of actors and audience members,” said Tony Marino, the show’s director. “It has been such a joyous occasion creating this, and we can’t wait to take everyone to Oz. Plus, we have an amazing Tornado that you have to see.”
The cast for the show features 43 members of the Westmoreland Performing Arts (WPA) student body playing Munchkins, Ozians and everything in between.
“The Wizard of Oz” will be performed at the Science Hall Theatre at Westmoreland County Community College at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 and 24, and at 2 p.m. Sept. 25.
General admission is $22 for adults and $12 for students.
