‘Late Nite Catechism 3’ is at City Theatre
City Theatre in Pittsburgh is presenting “‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3” through Sunday, Feb. 26.
The always-popular “Late Nite Catechism” series has been a nearly annual presentation at City Theatre, dating back to 2005. The interactive show has actor Kimberly Richards donning a habit and teaching her “students” – the audience – about saints, venal sins, limbo and more. In “‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3,” she offers up hilarious lessons on marriage, last rites and her own wacky version of “The Newlywed Game.”
Before the current run of “Late Nite Catechism,” Richards had performed 807 times at City Theatre. At the end of each performance, a collection is taken to support retired nuns at Little Sisters of the Poor, with more than $400,000 raised by audiences attending “Late Nite Catechism” shows.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Friday; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday; 2 p.m. Wednesday; an ASL-interpreted performance 7 p.m. Thursday; 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.
