Community dinner
A free community dinner will be held in the social hall of California United Methodist Church, 227 Third St., California, on Wednesday, May 6. The main course features items from JD Subs. Attendees are invited to bring a variety of side dishes or desserts to share. Dinner will be between 6 and 7 p.m., and anyone is welcome to attend.
Stamp Out Hunger drive
The National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive will take place on Saturday, May 9. Letter carriers across the country will collect non-perishable food donations to go to local food pantries. To participate, leave a non-perishable food donation in a bag by your mailbox.
Church fundraiser
United Christian Church, 499 E. Malden Drive, Coal Center, is holding the fundraiser “Bling, Bags, Blooms & Bites,” on Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This event combines a gourmet dining experience with an exclusive shopping opportunity. Tickets for the luncheon are $40, and only 48 will be sold. Call 724-938-2098 for tickets or additional information.
Election Day luncheon
California United Methodist Church, 227 Third St., California, will hold an Election Day luncheon and basket raffle on Tuesday, May 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is $10. All proceeds go to California United Methodist Women in Faith’s mission projects.
Spaghetti dinner
The Mingo Presbyterian Church, Route 88, Finleyville, will host a spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, May 19 from noon to 6 p.m. All dinners are $13 and take-out only. Call ahead at 724-348-5278.
Classics Rock dance
Carroll Township Volunteer Fire Company is sponsoring a dance with The Classics Rock band on Saturday, May 23, from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $15. For more information, call 724-632-2110. Food and beverages are available for purchase, but you can also bring your own.
Teen program
Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) invites teens to participate in its ongoing Crafty Conversations program, held on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Peter J. Daley Cultural Center, 119 Brownsville Ave., Brownsville. The free sessions offer teens a chance to express themselves artistically.
