Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175 in Washington recently awarded American Legion School Medal Awards to Washington area eighth-grade students.

The award recognizes students who possess high qualities of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and Americanism.

Awardees are selected by teachers and staff. The students were honored at an awards ceremony at the post on April 13.

Students honored were:

John F. Kennedy Catholic School – Eden Brake, Kaitlyn Cuniak, Russell Douglass, Gianna Rieg, Sophia Sawyer and Mario Stiehler.

Trinity Middle School – Sydney Fleissner, Sofia Welling, Fionna Barry, Ali Willis, Patrick Romito and Skylar Foringer.

Washington Junior High School – Cortez Dorsey, Immanuel Hurt, Jayla Villars, Addalie McCool and Haylo Davidson. Not pictured is Mark Johnson.
