The UPMC Washington School of Nursing held commencement exercises for the graduation of seven students Aug. 21 at DoubleTree by Hilton Meadow Lands. It marks the first class to graduate under the school's new name following its transition from the Washington Health System School of Nursing this past winter. The nursing school has transitioned to twice‑yearly admissions, with classes beginning each January and September. Nationwide, hospitals face ongoing nursing shortages, and UPMC Washington School of Nursing students will join the workforce and care for patients throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania and beyond. The graduating class from August includes Morgan Ankrom, Courtney Chapel, Leah Forster, Taytum Gerba, Kylee Miller, Erin Riggenbach, and Noah Shoup. [Courtesy of UPMC Washington]
