DeZomba Community Fund offers grants to church, outreach groups
The Canonsburg community is invited to apply for the DeZomba Community Fund, a special opportunity made possible by the generosity of Frank DeZomba.
Known as “Bud” to his friends, DeZomba was a longtime resident of McDonald, and a dedicated member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church.
A successful insurance agent, DeZomba had a passion for gardening, investing, and engaging in meaningful discussions about world affairs. His deep commitment to his faith and community led him to include Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church in his estate planning, ensuring that his legacy of generosity would continue to support local outreach efforts. DeZomba died February 10, 2021, but his spirit of giving lives on through this fund.
The DeZomba Community Fund aims to support Christian-based outreach programs that address physical, emotional, or spiritual needs in the Canonsburg, Houston, and surrounding areas. Local Christian churches and outreach groups looking to start or enhance community programs are encouraged to apply.
Applications will be available online from June 1 to 30 each year at http://www.canonsburgup.org/DeZombaFund or through http://www.canonsburgup.org. The number and amount of grants awarded will vary based on the fund’s annual growth (anticipated distribution between $10,000 and $20,000).
