Canonsburg Run Club bringing people together through fitness
A free weekly run club has been organized in Canonsburg for all ages and fitness levels.
The newly formed Canonsburg Run Club brings people together through fitness, friendship and a shared
appreciation for the community.
Founded by Deidra Dayak, a member of The Spineasy Cycle Lounge in Canonsburg, the club grew
from something simple: a group of people who enjoy staying active, encouraging one another and
celebrating each other’s accomplishments.
What began with a handful of participants quickly grew into a welcoming group of runners of all experience levels.
Canonsburg Run Club meets every Monday at 6 p.m. in the parking lot across from The Spineasy
Cycle Lounge. Participants gather beneath the red canopy before heading out on a one-mile loop,
with the option to continue for an additional two miles.
Whether you’re an experienced runner, just getting started or simply looking for a fun way to get
moving, the club encourages everyone to participate at their own pace. The club also offers
optional themed runs designed to bring people together, celebrate meaningful causes and add a
little extra fun to the weekly gatherings.
On Monday, Oct. 12, participants are encouraged to wear purple in recognition of Domestic
Violence Awareness Month. The themed run is an opportunity to raise awareness while showing
support and solidarity within the community.
Children, strollers and leashed dogs may join, under guardian supervision. Gatorade is
available for participants.
