City Mission 5K to benefit veterans house

1 min read

Washington City Mission’s 11th annual Mission Possible 5K Run/1 Mile Walk, presented by AccuTrex Products Inc., will be held at North Strabane Park at the Quail Acres Pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 19, at 8 a.m. The event benefits City Mission’s Crabtree Kovacicek Veterans House, which provides shelter and comprehensive services to homeless veterans.

The Mission Possible 5K was started 11 years ago by Jeff McCartney, a local Realtor and vice chairman of the City Mission Board of Directors, as a way to raise funds in support of the veterans house. The house opened in July 2018 and provides housing and supportive services for up to 22 homeless veterans, helping them rebuild their lives and return to independent living.
