State police release Labor Day weekend enforcement numbers

1 min read

Across Pennsylvania over the long weekend state police responded to 580 crashes, including five crashes in which six people died.

Troop B, which covers Washington, Greene, and Fayette counties, as well as portions of Allegheny and Westmoreland counties, responded to 51 crashes. None of those accidents were fatal.

The statistics were tracked between Aug. 30 and Sept. 2.

Troop B also made 41 DUI arrests, and issued 415 speeding citations. Statewide, there were 514 DUI arrests and 7,069 speeding tickets.

That is the same number of DUI arrests state police made last year during Labor Day weekend. Police issued about 2,000 fewer speeding tickets.
