Our Washington’s Got Talent 15th annual fundraiser is Saturday, Jan. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at Chartiers-Houston High School. Traditionally, we ask our finalists the following questions: Please tell me why you enjoy performing? What does performing in WGT mean to you? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Here are this year’s finalists’ responses:

Francesca Bennington – I enjoy performing because I can express myself and share with an audience. It means to me that I can showcase my talent with my community. In 10 years, I see myself successful and happy.

Addison Davis – I’ve always loved to make people happy, and when I realized I could use my talent to bring joy to others, I fell in love! It means that I have a new chance to bring people joy through my voice. I want to be an author when I grow up, so I publish my stories as a job and do musical theater in my free time.

Greta Fulton – I love the rush while on the stage. I love seeing people smile while watching. It means a lot to me because I rarely get to perform on stage, so it makes me have a moment of euphoria. I see myself as a music teacher of some sort. I want to share my love of music with people who are younger than me.

Izzy Gillis – I enjoy sharing the art of music with others. I am so excited to be performing for such a large audience. I will be working in a hospital as a pediatric speech and language pathologist and of course sharing music with the children.

Emmabelle Joy Glendenning – It’s just something I’ve always had a passion for, and I really can’t see myself doing anything else. It means a lot to know I’ve grown and gotten better as a performer after trying out and failing previously. Performing whenever I can while making plans to open my own theater in a small town.

Mackensie Hawkins – I enjoy performing because I enjoy showing people my talents, and I enjoy showing what I can do. It makes me happy when I can perform for my people and make their day better. Performing in Washington’s Got Talent means that I was able to step out of my comfort zone and share my talent with other people. I hope to see myself maybe teaching kids music or even being a music therapist and helping people in my own way!

Isaiah Hollowood – I enjoy getting to show people things I enjoy doing. Performing in Washington’s Got Talent was just something I decided would be fun to do. I try to look at the present rather than the future.

Brinley Kent – I enjoy performing because it makes me happy to showcase my talents to other people. It means so much for me to continue getting my talents (out) there. I see myself in college continuing to showcase my talents.

Emma Kentros – It makes me happy, and I’m able to express what I’m feeling in song. Being able to show my talents with people and perform. Acting and doing what I love.

Tommy Kinsey – I enjoy performing because it makes others joyful. I think it is a great opportunity to utilize my talent. I hopefully see myself performing at a large venue with a lot of people.

Avriella Miller – Because I love entertaining and making people smile. It’s an opportunity to expand my performing horizons and meet new people. Ideally, I will be playing in a band, on stage in an arena. Realistically I am performing in a church basement for 10 people.

Isabella Patterson – Because it’s a lot of fun meeting new people and making new friends. It means that I get to show my talent and love for tap and dance. Becoming a dance teacher and being a cosmetologist.

Piper Roberts – I love performing because it’s my chance to show all the hard work and dedication I put into my dancing. Being on stage gives me the chance to express myself and share my passion for dance with others. Performing in WGT means a lot to me because it’s an honor to be chosen as one of the finalists. I love getting to perform with my trio while supporting an organization that helps youth in our community. In 10 years, I see myself in the middle of medical school while still making time for dancing. Most importantly I see myself surrounded by the people I love.

Mia Steele – I enjoy performing to share the stage with my friends and getting to improve my skills. Performing in WGT means so much to me because it gives me the opportunity to push myself, try something new, and grow as a performer. Hopefully I will continue dancing and sharing my talents with others.

Alana Thompson – I love performing because I can express myself. I’m excited and looking forward to performing with my friends again. In 10 years, I see myself teaching kindergarten class in school and maybe even teaching a dance class.

Taaliyah Wright – I enjoy performing because it allows me to express myself. To me it means representing my community and those around. In 10 years, I see myself as a pediatric physical therapist while teaching dance part time.
